Shipping & Delivery

At Wilderly, we understand the importance of providing a safe and reliable shipping experience for our customers. We take great care in packaging and shipping live plants to ensure they arrive at your retail location healthy, vibrant, and ready to sell. Please read the following information regarding our shipping policy and guidelines:

We offer shipping multiple times a week across Canada and to the USA using reputable courier services known for their expertise in handling live plants. We carefully select the shipping method based on the distance, climate conditions, and the specific requirements of each plant to ensure their well-being during transit. Our preferred couriers are Purolator and DHL. We always select the fastest shipping methods and your plant will usually arrive in 1 – 2 days, depending on your location. We will not ship standard ground mail, which can take over a week for your plants to arrive.

We also ship across the globe, although shipping is on an as-ordered basis. If you are outside Canada/USA, please reach out and we will happy to discuss what is necessary to ship to your location!

To guarantee the safety of your live plants, we utilize specialized packaging materials and techniques. Each plant is individually secured and insulated to prevent shifting or damage during transit. We may use protective materials such as cushioning, moisture-retaining mediums, and specially designed boxes to maintain the plants’ optimal conditions.

We also aim to minimize waste and be good stewards of the environment. We may reuse packaging such as boxes and insulation.

We aim to ship your order as soon as possible to reduce your wait times and minimize the time the plants spend in transit. Orders within Canada are usually shipped within 1 – 7 business days, depending on order volume, weather conditions, and the date your order was placed. We ship Mondays to Wednesdays.

Please note that due to the nature of live plants, there may be specific shipping days to avoid plants being in transit over weekends or holidays. This is to minimize the risk of prolonged shipping durations that could potentially affect the health of the plants.

For shipments outside of Canada, time is needed to schedule and complete the phytosanitary inspection process for plant exports. This process can take up to 14 days from the order date.

If you would like us to hold your order and ship it during a certain week, please let us know and we would be happy to do so!

We are also happy to combine orders for reduced shipping, however do know that larger orders may incur higher shipping costs. We will reach out if needed.

It is important to check the shipping restrictions and regulations of your location, as well as any necessary permits or certifications required for receiving live plants. Some areas may have restrictions or require additional documentation for the import of live plants. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with local regulations before placing an order. If in doubt, please contact us, and we will be happy to assist you.

If required, we will need copies of your import permit for shipping. We will happily complete phytosanitary inspections for all plant exports.

Once your order is shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. This allows you to monitor the progress of your package and estimate its expected arrival, being sure to collect and unbox the plant as soon as it is delivered. Please note that delivery times may vary depending on the shipping method, destination, and any unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding in such cases.

We take pride in offering healthy and well-established plants. In the unlikely event that your plant arrives damaged or in poor condition, please contact us immediately with supporting photographs. We will assess the situation and provide a suitable solution, such as a supporting you with a courier claim, advising on care, or offering replacement or refund, depending on the circumstances.

Upon receiving your live plants, we recommend unpacking them carefully and giving them some time to adjust to their new environment. Your plant will recover the fastest if you place it in a warm, humid, and bright (unless it is low-light plant) location immediately. Do not repot your new plant right away! Shipping is already stressful, and transplanting it will cause further, unneccessary stress.

It is completely normal for your houseplant to undergo some cosmetic damage due to acclimation to your environment – a single yellow leaf for example, is nothing to worry about and is to be expected with more sensitive houseplants such as these.

Please note that while we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, shipping live plants always carries a certain level of inherent risk. Factors such as extreme weather conditions or unforeseen delays may impact the plants during transit. However, rest assured that we will do our utmost to minimize any potential risks and ensure your satisfaction.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our shipping policy or the shipping of your specific order, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer support team. We are here to assist you and ensure you have a delightful experience with our online rare plant store.

Happy gardening!
